FrontRunner is centered on Salt Lake City and connects 15 stations between Provo and Ogden.
The awards focus on capital projects that generate economic development and improve access to reliable, safe and affordable transportation for communities, both urban and rural.
Over the past 16 months, WAVE has deployed a number of projects including Utah Transit Authority’s full service 50kW system and Monterey Salinas Transit’s commercial service waterfront trolley.

The announcement follows the retirement last month of former President/CEO Michael Allegra, who had been leading the agency since 2010.
The funds are made available through FTA’s Transit-Oriented Development Planning Pilot Program for communities that are developing new or improved mass transit systems.
Allegra played an integral role in developing UTA’s extensive rail system and oversaw the completion of the FrontLines 2015 project, which included construction four light rail lines and one commuter rail line.
The agency is giving $40 worth of free bike safety gear and $20 gift cards for electronic bike lockers at transit stations for free as part of an ongoing effort.
By all indications, 2013 was quite a year for UTA, leading to the agency being named APTA’s 2014 Outstanding Public Transportation System for a transit agency providing 20 million or more passenger trips.
