Emille Williams, the agency's current VP, operations, will take over the position on Oct. 1 after the departure of current President/CEO W. Curtis Stitt.
During his tenure, he oversaw the transformation of public transit in Central Ohio, including a downtown circulator, an airport shuttle, and a comprehensive redesign of the entire bus network.
The fueling station will service City of Columbus vehicles, with additional access available to the public. It will share compression infrastructure with COTA’s existing CNG fueling station, built in 2013.
The 15.6-mile route will serve customers every 10 minutes between Downtown Columbus and SR-161 during rush hours, with service to Polaris Parkway/Africa Road every 30 minutes.
CMAX will help relieve passenger crowding and spur economic development along Cleveland Avenue, one of the city’s busiest travel corridors.
They will now have the option of purchasing discounted COTA monthly fares for local routes via pre-tax payroll deduction. After enrolling in payroll deduction, the program will require participating employees to obtain a new BuckID and “swipe it” for unlimited access to local COTA fixed routes, beginning May 1, 2015.
