TTC renews, extends suicide prevention program

Will continue Crisis Link through July 31, 2018. The program has handled an average of 2.75 incidents per month of people contemplating suicide on the transit system. No person has ever attempted suicide on the TTC immediately after speaking with a Crisis Link counselor.

TTC rail suicide hotline making a difference

During the first year of the agency’s suicide prevention program, the number of suicide-related incidents on Toronto’s subway system fell to 13, half the number that occurred in 2010.
