URBANA, Ill. — Pedestrian crosswalk signs on the University of Illinois campus will now order drivers to stop rather than yield, according to a News Gazette report. Approximately 50 crosswalk signs will be repainted at a cost of $5,000 to coincide with a change in wording for existing legislation, which requires that drivers stop for pedestrians in a crosswalk.
