OTTAWA — The OC Transpo Transit Commission refused to change the $35-per-semester fee increase to its U-pass, despite appeals and a presentation from University of Ottawa students, Yahoo! News Canada reported.

The students cited an agreement with OC Transpo for the price to be set at a “revenue-neutral” level for the transit agency. Additionally, graduate-school statisticians found OC Transpo’s accounting, which set the revenue-neutral price at $180, was wrong. The commission disagreed and approved the price hike.
