HONOLULU — Transportation officials are delaying construction work during and launching a mobile application to provide motorists with traffic information in preparation for the onslaught of an extra 50,000 college and private school students on the road when school starts on Oahu later this month, according to a Pacific Business News report.  

State Department of Transportation officials expect 51,900 students at the University of Hawaii campuses, other colleges and the private schools to head back to school August 26. Highway construction will be delayed through August 30. For the full story, click here.
