LAKELAND, Fla. — The Ledger reported that Lakeland Area Mass Transit District approved a contract with the new Florida Polytechnic University to provide a bus to take students from the school's campus to downtown Lakeland and Auburndale Monday through Friday for $322,000.

The two cities are expected to split the cost of a $75,000 bus that can carry up to 30 people, if both city  commissioners approve the purchase.

Florida Polytechnic is slated to open this fall, and enrollment is expected to be about 500 students. For the full story, click here.
