ABA Foundation adds new $10K scholarship
The new ABAF "Driving The Future Award" scholarship is four times larger than each of the 19 current scholarships that award students $2,500 each academic year to pursue coursework to help them prepare for future positions of leadership throughout the motorcoach, tour and group travel industry.
The American Bus Association Foundation (ABAF) announced the addition of a new 20th scholarship valued at a record $10,000 to the 19 existing scholarships offered as part of the George T. Snyder Scholarship Program.
The new ABAF "Driving The Future Award" scholarship, with a $10,000 value, is four times larger than each of the 19 current scholarships that award students $2,500 each academic year to pursue coursework to help them prepare for future positions of leadership throughout the motorcoach, tour and group travel industry.
The "Driving The Future Award" scholarship is available to full-time employees or the dependent children of full-time employees in the motorcoach, tour and travel industry. By adding this scholarship to its current 19 awards, the ABA Foundation will be distributing $52,500 annually to support industry families through the Snyder scholarship program.
The George T. Snyder Jr. scholarships recognize deserving students who demonstrate scholastic ability; leadership; character; diversity; and the potential to be future leaders in the transportation, travel and tourism industry. The program was established following the passing of the former ABA President/CEO in 1995 to honor his deep and lifelong interest in creating educational opportunities for all segments of the industry.
