The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) launched a Facebook page at www.facebook.com/FMCSA in an effort to further increase transparency and public awareness of FMCSA safety programs, encourage collaboration, and stimulate innovation.

FMCSA’s Facebook page will be updated daily and will feature announcements, events, important updates and other information of interest to its stakeholders.

According to its press statement: FMCSA values the input of all safety stakeholders, including enforcement, industry, safety advocates and the public. By sharing ideas, FMCSA can make a greater impact in improving safety on our nation’s roadways. FMCSA also understands that the communication landscape has changed greatly over the past decade and that our stakeholders are used to and want more real-time updates than ever before. Facebook will help us meet this demand by providing an accessible, efficient, two-way communication tool to facilitate the timely and useful sharing of ideas.

Information posted to the FMCSA Facebook page can also be found and verified through the agency's official Web site: www.fmcsa.dot.gov.
