COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) will begin providing free Wi-Fi on all 444 of its buses by the end of January, The Columbus Dispatch reports.

The agency will begin upgrading its fleet to 4G service, allowing wireless internet access at higher speeds on buses by Dec. 1, which is being done to increase communication between buses and COTA so the agency can track its buses in real-time, and ideally, improve efficiency.

The cost to COTA will be no more than $250,000 per year, though, the agency is hopeful negotiations with companies vying for the contract will result in no charge for them. For the full story, click here.
