Fla. state Rep. introduces bill to privatize Lynx

ORLANDO, Fla. — A state representative filed a bill that could lead to a private contractor running the day-to-day operations of the Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority, which includes the Lynx bus system, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

The bill (HB 155) calls for soliciting proposals from companies that want to manage the authority. The winning bidder would receive a contract for a minimum of five years. The move comes just two weeks after GM John Lewis left Lynx to run the public transportation system in Charlotte, N.C. For the full story, click here.
