A division of RATP Dev, McDonald Transit Associates, announced Wednesday that it will manage transit services for Tyler, Texas.

McDonald Transit Associates began its contract services in early May, and will continue for a period of five years with five additional one-year renewal options.

McDonald Transit will handle daily operation of Tyler Transit's fixed-route and paratransit systems. It will manage transit staff, including training, scheduling, and employee relations, as well as fleet maintenance. It will also handle grant management and assist with reviews by the FTA.

“We chose McDonald and RATP Dev because we believe they will help us continue to build Tyler Transit, and are looking forward to improved public transportation for our community,” said Russ Jackson, director of Solid Waste, Transit, and Vehicle Services for the city of Tyler.

Vera Matthews, the former GM of Hernando County, Florida's transit system, was appointed Tyler Transit's new GM.
