Posted on February 13, 2018

National Express Transit (NEXT), a provider of transit services in North America, has been awarded the contract to operate the San Joaquin Regional Transit District (RTD) commuter, intercity, and hopper services. Effective April 29, 2018, NEXT will be responsible for managing operations, scheduling, staffing and maintenance of the region-owned fleet.

To enhance safe transportation, NEXT will add state-of-the-art technology to the fleet; this includes cameras on all vehicles and Wi-Fi for Commuter Express vehicles.

The Stockton metro area is the sixth location in California for NEXT, including the cities of Modesto, Vallejo, Manteca and Merced, as well as Kern County.
