Calif. transit chief offers to take pay cut

SAN MATEO, Calif. — Mike Scanlon, CEO at the San Mateo County Transit District, who was recently revealed to be the highest-paid transit boss in California, offered to sacrifice part of his $400,000 compensation package, as the three agencies he heads struggle financially, The Daily Journal reports.

However, board members, who approved the salary, defended Scanlon, saying he was the best person for the job. For the full story, click here.
