Dattco takes delivery of Setra S 407
This marks the first delivery of the new North American ComfortClass from Setra, a brand of Daimler.
Dattco Inc., of New Britain, Conn., added two new Setra ComfortClass S 407 motorcoaches to support its Megabus operations. This marks the first delivery of the new North American ComfortClass from Setra, a brand of Daimler.
"We are very pleased to have Dattco as a return customer once again," stated Patrick Scully, chief commercial officer for Daimler Buses North America. "They are willing to provide a reliable, trustworthy first class vehicle to both clientele and employees, and we are proud to supply them that."
The two 2011 Setra ComfortClass S 407 coaches seat up to 56 passengers in style and comfort with auto retracting seat backs, fold-down aisle arm rests, and individual LED reading lights. In addition to a spacious and comfortable cabin design, the Setra S 407 features a Bosch classic line audio system. The exterior of the coach grabs attention with its European styling, oversized panoramic windows and lustrous paint, ensuring maximum curb appeal.
Powering the ComfortClass is the new Mercedes-Benz OM 471 BlueTec engine. It will deliver 410 horsepower and is paired with the Allison B500R automatic transmission. This combination provides greater efficiency, increases fuel economy and is environmentally sound, according to Daimler.
Dattco's two Setra ComfortClass S 407 will be in operation for the Megabus to provide affordable transportation services throughout the tri-state area. Megabus is a low cost express bus service in the U.S. that has online ticket booking starting at $1.00 and offers free Wi-Fi and electronic power ports.
