NEWARK, N.J. — NJ Transit’s “Text Against Terror” program has brought in 307 tips since its inception in June 2011, 71 of which regarded homeland security, reports the Asbury Park Press.
The program, which was funded by a $5.775 million U.S. Department of Homeland Security public awareness grant, allows travelers to report suspicious activity. All calls are answered at an NJ Transit Police communication center. To read the full story, click here.
