Calif. to Vegas HSR waiting for $5.5B fed loan

LAS VEGAS — An XpressWest representative told VegasInc that a high-speed rail line that would connect Las Vegas with Southern California, is still on hold, waiting for a decision to be made on a critical federal $5.5 billion loan.

The representative attributed the lengthy wait to the complexity of the project and amount of due diligence the Federal Railroad Administration must complete to approve the loan. For the full story, click here.
