Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus operators drove a combined one million miles accident free.

That distance is more than 40 times around the earth, or can be compared to one person driving approximately 12,000 miles annually for over 83 years accident free. One-hundred and three days have passed without collisions or accidents with other vehicles, or material damage to property deemed to be the fault of an MST employee.

“MST is proud to mark this important milestone,” MST GM/CEO Carl Sedoryk said. “It exhibits our commitment to safety for both our passengers and the communities we serve.”

Within the past year MST received the “Gold Award” for safety from the American Public Transportation Association as the safest transit operator of its size in the country.
