NEW YORK — New York Daily News reported that, according to police, thefts, robberies and assaults have dipped 7% since last summer and have decreased 16% this year.

Police have stepped up their presence on late-night trains and more undercover officers have been conducting sting operations, particularly in the seven precincts with the highest numbers of subway felonies. For the full story, click here.
