Long Beach Transit's Jackson retires

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Last week, friends and officials celebrated the retirement of Long Beach Transit President/CEO Larry Jackson, who led the agency for more than 30 years, according to the Press-Telegram.

Under his leadership, Jackson brought about several initiatives, including a Dial-A-Lift service before there was an American with Disabilities Act, the development and renovation of the First Street Transit Mall, the AquaLink and AquaBus water taxis, and the California State University, Long Beach U-Pass program.
