SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Argus Leader reported that Sioux Area Metro is struggling to accommodate growing demand for its paratransit system. As a result, the system plans to narrow its focus to its core service area.

While drivers now provide as many as 650 rides a day, city officials are proposing cutting that number to 550. After that number of rides is booked those outside the service area would have to schedule their rides for another day. Those within the service area still could get a ride.
