Bombardier Transportation won the award for Manufacturer of the Year at the 2013 Light Rail Awards held in London earlier this month.

The manufacturer won the award for the third consecutive year, according to the company. Bombardier also won the Worldwide Supplier of the Year award in 2010.

“The highly-prized accolade Manufacturer of the Year underscores our capability as a provider of light rail solutions and as a reliable partner for our customers,” said Germar Wacker, president, light rail vehicles, Bombardier Transportation, upon receiving the award from the UK Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Transport, Norman Baker.

The judges selected Bombardier for the award based on the company’s commitment to technological innovation, reliability and customer service across the globe, according to Bombardier. In addition, the judges highly commended Bombardier in the category Supplier of the Year.
