Amtrak announced Wednesday that it will move its Twin Cities service from the Midway area to the newly-renovated Union Depot on May 7, making it the latest transit entity to move to the historic train station that reopened more than a year ago, according to the report.

The beautifully renovated Union Depot, originally built in the 1920s, was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and LEED®
Gold certified in 2014.
Ramsey County Regional Railroad Authority owns Union Depot, which will offer a full complement of transportation services: Amtrak, Green Line light rail, Jefferson Lines, Greyhound, megabus.com, Metro Transit and MVTA buses and a bike center including a storage facility.
