BusCon’s educational program has a number of sessions targeted toward the transit professional with topics covering paratransit, driver safety, procurement and grant funding.

Alternative fuels will also be addressed in a session led by Lynn McLean of the Flint (Mich.) Mass Transportation Authority on Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 8:30am, where a case study on implementing propane autogas will be explored. Additionally, several electric buses from Via Motors, BYD Motors, Phoenix Cars and Zenith Motors will be on display in the exhibit hall. Phoenix and Zenith will also have vehicles available in the ride and drive.

Additional sessions from which transit operators can benefit include: “Transit Bus Procurement – Best Practices for a Successful RFP or IFB Process,” “What You Need To Know About Altoona Testing Updates,” “How the FTA’s Restructured Triennial Review Process Works,” and “How Developing Partnerships Can Help Cut Paratransit Costs.”

BusCon takes place Sept. 15 to 17, 2014 with the exhibit hall open on Sept. 16 and 17. Those who register by August 15 can save on a full conference pass or take advantage of a free exhibit hall only pass. More information can be found at www.BusConExpo.com.
