Alstom to supply Lyon, Pays de la Loire

Posted on April 5, 2011

[IMAGE]citadis-dualis-2.jpg[/IMAGE]Following two initial orders for 15 Citadis Dualis trainsets in 2007 and 2009, the Pays de la Loire region recently exercised an option for eight additional trainsets from Alstom Transport.

The eight trainsets will operate on the Nantes — Chateaubriant line and will be delivered in states between 2013 and 2014.

[IMAGE]Tramway-Citadis-Lyon-2.jpg[/IMAGE]Meanwhile, SYTRAL (Syndicat Mixte des Transports pour le Rhone et l'Agglomeration Lyonaise) — Lyons' transport authority — selected Alstom to supply 10 high-capacity Citadis tramways, which accommodate up to 400 passengers.

The new trams will operate on the T3 line, which links Part-Dieu to Mayzieu. Options for an additional two to nine tramsets may be issued at a later date.
