OKLAHOMA CITY — A month after signing a $23 million contract, city officials are ready to give up on Inekon Group a.s., the European manufacturer selected to build five streetcars for the city’s MAPS 3 system, The Oklahoman reported.
Inekon missed a deadline last week to submit final documentation of its insurance and credit worthiness. In response, city leaders have decided to seek authorization to open negotiations with Brookville Equipment Corp., which was ranked second in an evaluation last December.
Inkeon officials say the city “substantially changed terms and conditions” for the company’s credit documents and turned down Inekon’s request for a 45-day extension. For the full story, click here.
