Transdev started operations for Lakeland’s Florida Polytechnic University campus shuttle, delivering students from off-site housing and parking lots to central campus. The new campus shuttle operation features two routes now and is expected to grow in the coming years as the university expands enrollment.

Located halfway between Tampa and Orlando, Florida Polytechnic was founded in 2012 and has grown to a total enrollment of nearly 1,000. It focuses on STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and partners with technology firms to provide a curriculum that enhances career opportunities for students.

“It’s always exciting to get in on the ground floor so you can experience the continued growth with a customer,” said Tom Gahan, regional VP, southeast region, for On Demand. “As the student body continues to grow we are looking forward to providing solutions to make campus mobility even better.”
