Colorado Springs, Colo.'s Mountain Metropolitan Transit (MMT) will contract with National Express Transit Corp. for the Pikes Peak region's paratransit service begining Jan. 1, 2014.

The MMT paratransit service, expected to provide 157,000 rides in 2014, complements the regional fixed-route bus service by providing transportation for persons with disabilities.

National Express was awarded the contract by a committee comprised of five evaluators from the City of Colorado Springs' Transit Division and one member of the local paratransit community.
