NEW YORK — The Taxi & Limousine Commission agreed to add a 30-cent surcharge on every city taxi fare to make one-half the city’s yellow cabs wheelchair-accessible, reported the New York Daily News.

Approximately 400 of the more than 13,000 yellow cabs now on city streets can accommodate wheelchairs. That number will rise to more than 7,500 by 2020, under a settlement reached last year by accessibility advocates and then-Mayor Michael Bloomberg. For the full story, click here.
