Was named GM of Metro Transit in 2004. Today, Lamb oversees a bus and rail system with nearly 2,800 employees who operate two rail lines and nearly 900 buses on 125 routes.
The agency is set to move forward with several projects, including the recently opened BRT system, an 11-mile light rail system set to launch in mid-2014, and an ambitious decade-long project that will convert Metro’s highest ridership bus routes into rapid bus service corridors.
Metro Transit bought approximately 71,000 kilowatt hours of wind-generated electricity from energy supplier Xcel Energy’s Windsource program as part of an Earth Day event. This was just one of many components of its Go Greener initiative.

As unemployment numbers grow in the midst of the recession, transit ridership numbers have dipped. To help boost ridership, transit agencies are developing marketing campaigns and promotions, partnering with local businesses and sports teams, and implementing employee discount programs, with much success.
