U.S. DOT, Administration Propose Improvements to DBE Program

Spanning nearly 40 years and mandated by Congress, the DBE and ACDBE programs are intended to prevent discrimination, and remedy the continuing effects of past discrimination, against small businesses owned and controlled by disadvantaged individuals.

Would require each railroad or contractor with safety-related railroad employees to develop a training program designating the qualifications of each employee and then submit that program for the FRA’s approval.

FMCSA posts proposal to increase UCR fees

Believes its proposed new fee levels will both encourage states to aggressively enforce the UCR fees rule and generate the necessary revenue to execute state motor carrier safety programs.
