On Thursday, D.C. Metro previewed a new television ad to promote the Silver Line that will begin airing Saturday afternoon following the grand opening ceremony.
Announcement follows two weeks of progress by the Airports Authority and their contractor to resolve open work items. D.C. Metro GM/CEO Richard Sarles noted that there are still remaining items — such as obtaining Certificates of Occupancy — that are expected to be resolved prior to the opening date.
Silver Line is a 23-mile extension of the existing Metrorail system with new tracks that extend from East Falls Church, through Tysons and Reston, and eventually to Washington Dulles International Airport west to Ashburn.
