Italy's NTV is leveraging two options included in a previous contract signed with Alstom in October 2015 for the purchase of eight Pendolino high-speed trains and associated maintenance.
This new train, an evolution of the former Pendolino high speed train, can reach a maximum speed of 155 mph. Measuring 614 feet long, the train will be composed of 7 cars accommodating around 480 passengers.
With a top speed of 186 mph, the train operated by NTV and manufactured by Alstom AGV will initially service a Milan-Florence-Rome-Naples route and gradually expand.
