The Surface Transportation Board ruled in July that New Jersey Transit is exempt from federal oversight. Two lawsuits filed by residents and the group Save the Dinky are still active at the New Jersey Appellate Division level.
A yellow taxi won the “Race to LaGuardia,” beating out the airport shuttle, Uber car service, Citibike, subway, train and bus, according to the study by Global Gateway Alliance.

Transport Action Atlantic said that rural New Brunswick is at risk of being without any bus service if the provincial government does not subsidize it. Acadian Lines, which previously served the region, said it could not make a profit providing the service.
ITNGreaterBoston started by advocacy group Health Resources in Action, began providing rides to seniors in January, and will be expanding its service to other communities over the next several years.
