Promoting the first diesel multiple unit (DMU) approved by the Federal Railroad Administration for mixed freight service in the U.S., Colorado Railcar is taking its vehicle on a tour of America.
The self-propelled commuter railcar debuted at the American Public Transportation Association’s 2002 Annual Meeting in Las Vegas and has been travelling around the country ever since. The car is both a commuter passenger car and a diesel locomotive that can pull up to two additional coaches.
Upcoming touring states include: California and Alaska in July; Alaska, Washington, California, Colorado and Illinois in August; and Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, D.C. and Florida in September.
