BOSTON — The AP reported that the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) fired a trolley operator involved in a rail collision that injured dozens of people after finding out that he had worked an overnight shift at another job before coming to work on the morning of the crash.
MBTA’s interim GM told the AP that the operator was unfit for duty and violated the transit system’s policies by not having enough rest before reporting to work. The operator was going to receive a safety award from the MBTA on Friday. For the full story, click here.
