LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority has been trying to eliminate or reduce service on the 305 and other bus lines for more than a year, due to the upcoming opening of the east-west Expo Line light-rail service, low ridership, budget concerns and to eliminate route duplication, Los Angeles Times reported.
Critics say the bus cuts will fall hardest on minorities and low-income riders who depend on lines like the 305 as a crucial link between South Los Angeles and the job-rich Westside. For the full story, click here.
