SALT LAKE CITY — On Nov. 1, the Utah Transit Authority will remove a fuel surcharge that it added in August, lowering bus fares from $2.25 to $2, The Salt Lake Tribune reports. The fuel surcharge — which protects the agency's budgets without implementing a permanent fare increase, officials say — will be dropped due to the decrease in average diesel prices in the third quarter.
