DURHAM, N.C. — Wake Forest University has seen a decline in the number of first-year students purchasing fall parking permits, while membership in an on-campus car-sharing service has gone up.
Other transit options include the university's Wake Line shuttle service, which has doubled so far this year, officials report. That may be due in part to an iPhone app that tracks shuttles in real time. The app was designed by Wake Forest students, saving the university the cost of purchasing a third-party system.
The University also offers weekend shuttle service to downtown Winston-Salem and a solar-electric bus for on-campus transportation.
