MV Transportation Inc. (MV) was chosen by the Los Angeles City Council to operate and manage the Los Angeles Department of Transportation’s Region 2 Commuter Express system.
Under the terms of the five-year agreement, MV will begin services Jan. 1, 2009, through the use of 75 commuter coaches and large transit buses, utilizing a staff of more than 90. The company will also implement new technology to improve service, including DriveCam, automated passenger updates and the company’s fixed route on-time performance tracker.
In addition, MV’s Contract Transportation division was awarded a contract for the operation of Ohio’s Earthworks Transit services, which provides curb-to-curb transportation within the city limits of Newark and Heath.
Under the terms of the two-year contract, MV will begin providing service on Jan. 1, 2009, through the use of more than 15 vehicles. MV will be eligible for three additional one-year contract extensions upon the contract conclusion date of Dec. 31, 2010.
