The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) named Howard H. Roberts Jr. president of New York City Transit (NYCT). Most recently a transportation consultant, Roberts previously served as COO of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority and returns to NYCT more than 20 years after serving as its vice president of surface transit. “We interviewed many exceptional candidates from around the world and within the MTA family, but Howard’s experience, leadership and management style made him the clear choice,” said Elliot G. Sander, MTA executive director and CEO. Roberts took over the reins on April 11.
