NEWARK, N.J. — Two NJ Transit passengers — one accused of throwing a hot cup of coffee on a bus driver’s face and another accused of shoving a train conductor — were arrested and charged by NJ Transit Police, NBC New York reports.
In the coffee incident, a 40-year-old woman was getting off a bus in Newark when she allegedly threw a cup of hot coffee in a bus driver’s face, resulting in minor burns for the driver. Meanwhile, a 33-year-old man was getting off a North Jersey Coast line when he allegedly shoved a train conductor after arguing over the fare.
If convicted, the woman faces up to five years in prison and $15,000 in fines, while the man faces up to 18 months in prison and $10,000 in fines. For the full story, click here.
