PROVO, Utah — A group that has been attempting to halt the Utah Transit Authority’s Provo-Orem BRT project has filed their case with Provo’s Fourth District Court after the Utah Supreme Court denied their request for extraordinary writ, reports the Daily Herald.
The group of petitioners, made up of Orem and Provo residents, gathered signatures earlier this year in an attempt to get a referendum put on the November 2017 ballot. The petitioners believe Provo and Orem officials violated the Utah Constitution by refusing to accept their referendum petition.
The group further states the cities’ denial to put the referendum on the ballot is a violation of the 14th Amendment. For the full story, click here.
