JENKINTOWN, Pa. — FOX 29 reports that the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) and Uber are partnering to try and drum up business in the suburbs.
Under the partnership, which will run from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day, Uber rides to and from 11 selected Regional Rail stations will be discounted by 40%, with a maximum discount of $10 per ride. SEPTA’s goal is to bridge the “first and last mile” gap. The program is also part of an ongoing study SEPTA is conducting on how the growing popularity of ride-sharing services could impact services.
