GARFIELD, N.J. — Branches of NJ TRANSIT and the Long Island Rail Road were shut down, after people were struck by trains in separate incidents Wednesday afternoon, CBS New York reported.
In the first incident, a man was hit by a NJ TRANSIT train near the Garfield station with 100 passengers onboard, although there were no injuries. Later in the afternoon, the Port Washington Branch on the LIRR was completely suspended in both directions after an unauthorized person was hit by a train at Flushing-Main Street in Queens.
