DOVER, Del. — Advocates for people with disabilities and the elderly requested a year-long delay of statewide increases in paratransit fares and service changes, which are set to go into effect in March 2014, according to The News Journal.
Delaware Transit Corp., which operates DART First State, wants to double most bus and paratransit fares over two years, expand bus routes and implement a new model of paratransit.
Under the proposed revisions, paratransit would be limited to those trips beginning and ending within three-fourths of a mile of local fixed-route bus services, as mandated by the ADA. For the full story, click here.
