ALLENDALE, Mich. — With more Grand Valley State University (GVSU) students using the bus to get to class, fewer are buying campus parking permits, bringing the number of purchases down by 23%, MLive reported.
The dip in permits being purchased during the 2012-13 school year has left the school’s parking budget short $105,727. Data show that parking permit sales have fallen steadily since the 2005-06 academic year, despite growing enrollment. Meanwhile, the number of times GVSU students used transit increased.
