Broward County Transit (BCT) was named the 2008 Urban Community Transportation System of the Year for its efforts in improving service to its paratransit customers and serving the community by the Community Transportation Association of America (CTAA).

This award is given to public transportation agencies that provide service in an urban area with a population of more than 50,000, based on innovative and creative services provided in the community. It also recognizes the systems’ responsiveness to its customers needs.

The CTAA was established in 1987 as a national nonprofit, membership association committed to removing barriers to isolation and improving mobility for all people.
