DETROIT — City Department of Transportation officials announced that, since changing vendors, paratransit shared passenger rides have decreased 50 percent and ridership rose 31 percent. They have also created an in-house customer care center to address complaints. The switch from Veolia Transportation caused some disabled passengers to complain about the quality of vans and attitude of drivers, according to The Detroit News.
