Disabled visitors using transit face hurdles for London Olympics

LONDON — City officials have promised that the upcoming London Olympic and Paralympic Games will be the most accessible and inclusive ever, with all sports venues fully equipped for disabled visitors, but many city-goers with physical impairments say they still feel like second-class citizens on public transport. Despite the bus system being equipped with ramps and low-floor access for wheelchair users, critics have complained that drivers have refused to pick them up, reported MSNBC.com.
